Handbell Choir
The LCN Handbell Choir is holding a few more practices this summer, on Thursday evenings in July at 7:30 at the church (in the basement choir room). We already know we'll be down a few members in the Fall, and would therefore like to invite anyone who has ever thought about playing bells (but was afraid to ask!) to join us for these next 2 - 3 weeks. We'll be looking over new music, working on technique, and generally having fun (which is the only pre-requisite for being in the choir). No need to read music (although it helps) - the only other thing that's helpful is knowing your left hand from your right hand!
So - join us if you'd like to learn more about playing bells, or if you've played before and want to teach us a few tricks!

3rd Annual Congregational Retreat at Calumet
October 26-28, 2007

Our 3rd annual congregational retreat at Calumet was October 26-28. 2007. It was again a wonderful opportunity to renew & refresh your body and soul, and to connect with other members of LCN in a relaxed and beautiful setting. Our focus this year was on Learning - how do we learn, what do we need/want to learn about God and spirituality, how do we teach our children, and some other related surprises. We'll also had plenty of time for activities, including hiking, singing around a campfire a (inside because of the rain), jack-o'lantern carving, apple cider pressing, games, working on some service activities, homework time for the kids, and more!
Now save the dates for the next two years!! October 24-26, 2008 and October 2-4, 2009 (note the weekend change) Please join us! If you can't come for the whole retreat, we would still love to have you join us for part of the weekend. Please don't let the cost keep you from coming - funds are available to help defray the cost. While Calumet doesn't pro-rate the cost for those who leave early or come late, LCN can help! Just let Pastor Stendahl or Lisa Duke know.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Susan Batutis, Paul Eldrenkamp, Lisa Duke, or Tana Walsh (the retreat planning committee).
